…Que dice / It says.....

Andrea Cavagnaro/Karina Granieri
Intervención en vidriera, Centro Cultural España
Buenos Aires, 2007

This project is an attempt to provoke the body. A text, handwritten with paint on the glass storefront, gradually forces the spectator to move in order to be able to read it. When the occasional reader/walker reads, he founds himself questioned (or not) about belonging to an anonymous social individual, or about being a victim of consumption-oriented society. The movement causes a certain annoyance that matches the contents of the text he is reading.
Which says… is a handmade work, a physical work. Movement and halt. It’s inspired by books, photocopies and social passion (
Debord, Suely Rolnik, Guattari, and Luther Blisset, among others).
It aims at facing the subliminal and hidden things we are used to hide and withhold. Fortunately there are other means for what’s possible: generating resources that could probe the world upside down. Words help us unravel the most urgent issues, at least nowadays
